XDF to KP converter: import a TunerPro XDF into WinOLS
Have an XDF for an ECU and want the maps in WinOLS? Upload the .xdf and download a WinOLS map pack (.kp), ready to import into the project that holds your read. Every table, axis and scaling in the XDF becomes a WinOLS map at the same address, so nobody has to type hundreds of map definitions in by hand.

Drop in the .xdf file. It is read straight away and you see how many maps it holds, and anything that will not carry over, before you spend anything.

Pick your WinOLS version
Choose the map pack for current WinOLS, the separate map pack for WinOLS 2.24, or a WinOLS CSV map pack. Each option says what it keeps and what it cannot.

Import it into WinOLS
Download the file, open your WinOLS project with the read loaded, and import it as a map pack. The maps land on the addresses the XDF defined.
What carries over
- Constants, 2D tables and 3D tables, with their axes.
- Scaling. A linear TunerPro equation such as X*0.1-40 becomes the exact WinOLS factor and offset, worked out with exact fractions rather than rounded decimals.
- Data layout: 8, 16 and 32 bit cells, signed or unsigned, big or little endian, and floats.
- Map titles, descriptions and units.
- Categories, which become WinOLS folders.
What to know first
- XDF flags, functions, patches and checksum blocks have no WinOLS map equivalent. They are left out and listed by name when the file is read, never dropped silently.
- A non-linear equation cannot be written as a WinOLS factor and offset. It is approximated with a straight line and named in the list, so you know which maps to check.

A modern WinOLS map pack you can open directly, on a current WinOLS install.
WinOLS map pack (2.24 and older)
Only if your WinOLS is the old 2.24 release, which cannot open the newer pack format.
WinOLS CSV map pack
The most widely compatible option. Import it into just about any WinOLS from 3.x upwards, and edit the list in a spreadsheet first if you want to.

How do I import an XDF into WinOLS?
Convert the XDF into a WinOLS map pack (.kp) or a WinOLS CSV map pack, then import that into your WinOLS project with the read loaded. The converter does the first step: upload the .xdf, pick the output that matches your WinOLS version, and download it.
Which WinOLS versions can open the converted file?
The standard map pack opens in current WinOLS 4.x and 5.x. There is a separate map pack for WinOLS 2.24, which cannot open the newer format. The CSV map pack imports into just about any WinOLS from 3.x upwards.
Do I need to upload my ECU read?
No. A map pack and an XDF both describe where the maps are and how to read them, not the calibration itself. Only the definition file is uploaded, and your read never leaves your own machine.
What happens to the parts of an XDF WinOLS has no equivalent for?
Flags, functions, patches and checksum blocks are left out, and every one is listed by name when the file is read, before you convert anything. A non-linear equation is approximated with a straight line and listed too, so you can check those maps by hand.
Will the maps be at the right address?
Yes. Each map is written at the address the XDF gives it, with the same cell size, byte order and axes. If the XDF was written for a different software version than your read, the addresses will be wrong in WinOLS exactly as they would be in TunerPro.
I do not have a KP or XDF. Can you make one?
Yes. We can make a WinOLS map pack or a TunerPro XDF for any ECU. Open a support ticket from your account, or email info@remapify.net, with the ECU and its software version, and you will get a quote.
What does a conversion cost?
Uploading your file and seeing what is in it is free. Producing a converted file costs credits from your account balance, and the price is shown on each output before you pick one. A conversion that fails costs nothing.
Is my file kept private?
Yes. It is uploaded into private storage, converted on our server and only your own account can download the result. Nothing you upload is shared with anyone, and two-factor authentication is required on every account.
Is there a file size limit?
16 MB per file, which is comfortably above the largest real map pack or XDF we have seen.
Who can use the converter?
Anyone with a Remapify account. Signing up is free and takes a couple of minutes, and every account is reviewed before it is activated, because Remapify is a trade portal for workshops and tuners.
